Sapporo - part 2:

“What’s cooler than being cool? Ice Cold!” - OutKast

Here are pictures from the 63rd Annual Snow Festival in Hokkaido, Sapporo, Japan. What you are looking at are really massive sculptures carved out of Ice/Snow.

Some things you should know:

1. It was freezing outside.

2. Brad forgot to wear long underwear and I made him slide down a slide made entirely of ice blocks…He was not amused, just cold. (I may get a video up of it later).

3. Noone licked a statue to see if their tongue would get stuck.

4. It was freezing. Did I say that already?

5. Here is how they make these massive sculptures out of snow.

6. Here is the history of the SnowFes.

After two hours of walking around the festival we had practically become ice sculptures ourselves…

There will be a part 3. I’m sorry. I have to …I still have chocolate, Sapporo beer, and fresh fish to talk about! Stay tuned.

Don’t forget you can click on photos to see them enlarged. word.
